MAC Dazzleglass vs. Drugstore Lipgloss

I was excited to receive a gift of MAC Love Alert Dazzleglass from my hubby.
Who needs flowers, right? LOL

I nearly DIED when I realized that the finished result could be achieved using a less expensive brand of makeup. Afterall, would anyone really be able to tell the difference?

The MAC Dazzleglass has a pleasant smell, that of vanilla.
The consistency is a little sticky. Not nearly as sticky as NARS!
(NARS has a tendency to GRAB your hair)
I found it necessary to reapply often to maintain the effect of the intensity & vibrancy of the dazzleglass.

Since my lips are quite pigmented, I know that I will have to stain my lips with another lip product or lay down a lip pencil to achieve the look I desire. Worn alone, the dazzleglass is pretty, but it doesn't scream FIYAH!

Other less expensive alternatives include...
L'Oreal GlamShine lipgloss $4-$10 (find 'em on ebay)
- PLUMPING diminishes base color over x
Maybelline Wetshine Diamonds Liquid $1.00
- (overall BEST staying power discontinued RUN to the dollar store!)
LA Colors moisturizing lip gloss $1.50 (sheer/too glittery)

$18 vs. $1.00 - A $17.00 savings.
The choice is yours.

Are you aware of any dupes for MAC Dazzleglass? Please share in the comment section.
Thank you.

  1. I don't know of any dupes, but you can add mac reflects glitter to get a dazzleglass effect. I bought a few samples from the body needs and it works like a charm! I did a video on it if you want to see it in action. Take care girl! :)
