American-Dominican Salon Blow Out

FIRE

Plus Blow Dryer

Equals THIS Result

I just wanted to update everyone about my hair progress.
I went natural about 20 months ago. At the 18 month point, I became FRUSTRATED with my natural hair. It was way too dry. I wasn't in the frame of mind to scour the hair boards to find a solution. I caved in to the pressure to relax my hair. Yes, I subcumbed to the creamy crack so that my hair would be "easier" to manage. Of course we all know that did not solve my "dry hair" issues.

On Wednesday, I went to my local American-Dominican Hair Salon for a deep conditioning treatment. I also got a roller set & a blow out. OUCH! Yes, it had been months since I'd felt that heat on my scalp. Anyway, I took a few pics. You really can't see the length. It had been a long day & I was tuckered out! I also sat while my daughters' hair was done.

I only paid $28. I didn't need a trim, since I was ON TOP of my trims regularly during my time away from the salon.
(Of course I tipped well. (Beauty Service Tipping Guidelines) I worked in the Customer Service Industry for 20 years...including a brief stint as a waitress. TIP EVERYONE WHO TOUCHES YOUR HAIR DURING A VISIT TO THE SALON)

If you can stand the heat, I think it is worth enduring it once in a while for that Dominican silky shakeable texture. No one can straighten textured hair like the Dominicans. IMHO
