The VALUE of Shopping your Stash

For the past five years, I have been an avid makeup/beauty shopper.

There comes a point where eventually, you acquire enough products.
You find out what works for you and what does not.
You find new homes for the things that no longer work for you.
I have friends who are new to the world of makeup who readily accept
my sanitized makeup hand me downs.
I know what I love and what I cannot live without.
How many times can we dupe colors by the same vendor?

My There are still a few items on my Makeup Wish List.
Yes, I will still occasionally try out new products.
However, my goal for 2012 will be to shop my stash.
I will finish changing over my storage from Rubbermaid/Sterilite plastics
to Muji acrylics.
My main reason for this decision is focusing on more substantive things
Have you ever put yourself on a makeup no buy?

  1. Hey! We're >here<. I recently just purged my mountain of nyx lipsticks because 1. most were expired. 2. i was barely wearing them and 3. i had mac dupes so in the trash they went. I also trashed some old nyx pencil liners that apply as if someone was poking me in the eyeball. So all 30 of those liners had a nice convo with the garbage can lol. Besides my urban decay 24/7 liners are collecting dust lol. When I first started out with makeup I started from scratch with nothing in my collection. Now, nothing hasn't really been tickling my fancy so I watch hauls and look at swatches but I look at my stash and say "I don't need it, I'll use what I have". Great post!

  2. Hey Jenny! Wow, that's a lot of purging! You're strong! Thanks so much for sharing. I so agree.."I don't need it, I'll use what I have." LOL

  3. I also am doing that this year. I like to pick a product or color and challenge myself to use it as many ways possible for a week at a time. I mostly do that with eyeshadow and have come up with some combos I'd never considered in the past.
