L'Oreal HiP Matte Eyeshadow Duos

Just in for a limited time only, L'Oreal HiP has released new matte eyeshadow duos. I have only picked up 2 so far. I got them last week on a CVS bogo
(buy 1 get 1 50% off)grrr

L'Oreal HiP ANIMATED

Coastal Scents White (from 88 palette)

Coastal Scents Blue (from 88 palette)

L'Oreal HiP PERKY

Coastal Scents Green (from 88 palette)

Coastal Scents Dark Purple (from 88 palette)

Someone asked,
"If you own the 88 palette, is it worth it to invest in the HiP Matte duos?"
Ummmm yeah! LOL I've recently become disenchanted with the staying power of my 88 palette. I do love the colors. But it seems as if they fade after only a couple of hours of wear. The HiP colors seem to have longer staying power & better blend ability.

Ck. Out my swatches

L'Oreal HiP Bottom Row

There are 6 matte duos available, as well as 3 new metallic shades. I haven't been able to find them anywhere but CVS though. I just found out they have them @ Ulta!

Coastal Scents Gel Liners

13 rich in color Gel Liners have arrived, these apply with ease using an angle liner brush. We were sure to pass out samples to several of our testers who have used these for 2 months. Application is easy, has the ability to design and be creative, lasts all day without smudging or creasing and are highly pigmented. There is so much work involved in finding a truly great gel liner, along with needing it mass produced we have finally hit on a company who can offer us both!

GET ALL 13 COLORS AS A SET AND GET A SPECIAL DEAL!
If compared to HIP gels these are a several steps above in quality, they compare to MAC as I have also used several of those over the trial period. Each Liner comes in a black box with our CS Trademark Gel Liner Logo, a round peek hole, ingredients on the back. These are packaged in a thick walled; frosty glass jar with black cap. These are 5 gram jars, due to the intensity of the liners you will only need a dab of gel to achieve your look.

Reviews so far are GREAT! I'd love to add these to my collection!
Pro: less expensive than MAC fluidline
Con: color name is not on jar, (easily fixed)

$6.95 each or $82.90 for all 13 colors. buy them @ www.coastalscents.com

MAC PRO 134 vs. Coastal Scents Large Powder Brush

MAC Pro 134 Large Powder Brush

An extra large paddle-shaped brush featuring a fluffed, rounded tip. Of soft natural fibre, this brush is specially designed to provide flawless application of powder to face or body.
17.5 cm
Ateyaaa from YouTube CONVINCED me I NEED this brush. LOL I wonder how it compares to Coastal Scents Large Powder Brush ?
Large Paddle Face Brush (comparable to M.A.C.134)Our natural hair face and body brush, (comparable to M.A.C.'s 134 at $54) offers the same incredible balance, feel and application. The span across the top hair is 2 1/4 inches, the length of the hair is 2 inches, the top is chisled. $54 vs $9.95 hmmmmm

EDIT!
While I did not invest in the MAC 134, I did get the coastal scents dupe & I am very impressed by the quality of the brush. While I cannot compare the 2, I can say with no uncertainty that the cs brush suits my needs. I use it to highlight my face. LOVE IT!

Empty Blush Palette

8 pcs Empty Palette with 44 mm Magnetic Pans (same size as MAC Blush) $9.95
There are many options you can use this size palette for: Blush, Contour, Foundation, mix it up and more. The pans are magnetic, they do not have a magnet on the bottom due to the palette itself is magnetized and grabs it right up. There is also a scoop out on the upper right corner of each pan for easy removal and replacement. The pans are held in place and surrounded by a sturdy black foam.

Comes in a matte black case only, 8 empty pans are included in 44 mm size or 1 11/16th" (almost 1 3/4) of an inch in circumferance.

I HAVE to have this!

I believe it has gone the way of the dodobird. Goodbyes?? LOL Great for me b/c I think it was like $40. YIKES!

EDIT!
I purchased the coastal scents synthetic wide buffer brush after having seen tynie626 from YouTube's CrownBrush HAUL vid. It is theeee softest brush I own. My fave! So glad I invested! whooo hoooooo!

Coastal Scents Silicone Powder VS. MUFE HD Powder LE Set

Coastal Scents Silicone Powder is only $4 for 1oz. or 28.35 grams (MORE than enough) You can buy one of their sifter 30 jars for $.85. Total Cost? About $5. Currently showing as OUT OF STOCK on the website grrrrrr

Sephora Limited Edition MUFE HD Powder & Kabuki Brush Set $49. (A $69 value)The brush can be purchased by itself for $39. UGH the set is def the better value btwn the two, but I am not 100% convinced it is worth it to spend so much when the Coastal Scents deal is so much more affordable!
A Sistah Can Dream, Can't She? LOL

The debate rages on. Some are saying that the Coastal Scents Silicone Powder is the same as the MUFE HD powder. I think the MUFE HD Powder has some other benefits like antioxidants or something like that. Still, I have to wonder....$50 vs $5. STICKER SHOCK? I could totally justify the LE purchase from Sephora b/c of the brush. (quivery lip) LOL

EDIT! I just reconsidered my purchase of this item due to controversy surrounding using the CS silica spheres in it's raw form alone. The cs website says that it is an ingredient. I have a close friend who uses this product regularly & associated her upper respritory irritation to the use of this product. :O(

Coastal Scents Silica Shperes Powder IS NOT Equal to Make Up For Ever HD Powder!!!

***ADDITIONAL INFO: After silica particles are inhaled, the smallest particles work their way to the lower respiratory tract. Once in the lungs the particles cause acute toxicity damage to the lung cells. Scientists believe that the surface and sharp structure of the silica particle are to blame for the extreme danger and toxic nature of the dust. As support for this theory, it has been observed that freshly crushed silica particles cause more inflammation and kill more cells than silica that has aged in the air.

The silica particles are quickly attacked and ingested by the body's defense releasing enzymes and radicals. This release of these by products can result in death of the lung and white blood cells cell which causes inflammation which can result in acute silicosis. However the process usually produces a condition called alveolitis which is often the first stage of chronic silicosis.

As scar tissue is created it will form lesions in the later stages of the disease.

As the body develops chronic inflammation dark areas become visible in X-ray chest film. The silicotic nodules are dense spherical structures which collect together and become visible on chest X-rays usually in the upper lung fields.

As silicosis develops, the lungs become increasingly susceptible to infections with tuberculosis, fungi, and bacteria of many kinds, which accelerates the disease process.
***
What is being sold is to be used in formulations. Meaning only added to other ingredients not to be used undiluted. Is often done so in presumtive accordance with appropriate manufacturing regulations (i.e. amount, concentration, method of application). This does not speak to its safety if applied directly or undiluted. For example, pure pigments(the coloring) that are used in formulating eyeshadows, can cause irritation, allergic reaction or dermatitis if applied directly to the skin. In this case, through continued use, you may be risking something more serious: Silicosis

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicosis

Silicosis (also known as Grinder's disease and Potter's rot) is a form of occupational lung disease caused by inhalation of crystalline silica dust, and is marked by inflammation and scarring in forms of nodular lesions in the upper lobes of the lungs.

This is especially concerning to me because in every other industry where the product is micronized and becomes airborne, the potential for it to cause cancer is classified as "strong evidence". http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/ingr...

In California, Silica fall under the list of of carcinogens on Proposition 65. http://www.oehha.org/prop65/prop65_li...

What's important to note about this product in particular is that it's being sold as an ingredient, and not as a finished product. If you read the recommendations on the page it's all geared towards being part of a larger formulation (ex: "This can be used for slip in small amounts , oil control formulations of mineral makeup."). They aren't recommending that it be applied directly as a face powder.

Check out the website and see for yourself:

And please always research an ingredient before using it!!!
