L'Oreal HiP Platinum vs. NYX, Covergirl & L'Oreal Rich Silver
I've been drooling after the HiP Platinum Duo ever since I saw 2 of my favorite YouTube Gurus do eyeshadow tutorials featuring this product. I already had similiar colors & I'm super cheap, so I waited. I finally broke down & picked up the Platinum Duo because CVS had a BOGO! whooo hooooo!
So I compared the silver side of the HiP Platinum Duo
against NYX e/s103Hollywood
and L'Oreal Wear Infinite' 910 Rich Silver (dupe for MAC Silver Pigment)
as well as the shimmery black side of the HiP Platinum Duo
against
CoverGirl 440 Shimmering Onyx
and NYX es/01 Black (which is mostly matte w/ a hint of shimmer)
I concluded from my swatches, that the investment in the L'Oreal HiP Platinum was well worth it's weight in gold. Here's why: That Silver is HAWT! It is peerless against the other shadows against which I compared it.
I rate the Covergirl more intense re: glitter. But if you would prefer to have less glitter, then the others are viable alternatives.
Here are the SWATCHES! without Flash
Far Left is NYX e/s01 Black
Top Left is Covergirl 440 Shimmering Onyx
Bottom Left is Black side of HiP Platinum Duo
Top Right is NYX e/s103 Hollywood
Bottom Right is silver side of HiP Platinum Duo
Far Right is L'Oreal Wear Infinite' 910 Pure Silver
*Previously, I compared the shimmery Black from e.l.f.'s Drama Quad to CoverGirl's Shimmery Onyx & found the Covergirl to have more shimmer. This was what I wanted. So I didn't bother to include this in the comparison.
Happy Shopping!
