Maybelline 2012 Fall Scene On The Runway - Ltd Edition 24 hr Edition Color Tattoo Eyeshadows

In the mid-Atlantic region of the
United States, we look forward to crisp Autumn days in September.
It will soon smell like back to school and football season. I'm ready to curl up with a good book and some warm apple cider.
Autumn also brings with it the beautiful change in the colors of the leaves on the trees. Many of us leave the bright bold colors of summer behind and opt for more subtle hues.

Maybelline has once again released some fantastic eyeshadows to assist us in being chic and fashionable this fall.

You may see a display such as the one pictured on the left in your local Rite Aid. It is my understanding that Rite Aid is exclusively carrying these items. They are also limited edition. These retail for $6.69. I was able to procure mine during a Buy1Get1 50% off special. Unfortunately, when I got to the register, they both rang up full price. The manager honored the advertisement and gave me the proper price.
The display also features a brush. I did not buy it.

100 Barely Beige

Many are saying that this Barely Beige is a dupe for MAC Paint Pot in Painterly. I do not own this, so I cannot say for sure that this is true.

200 Mossy Green

Many are also saying that Mossy Green is a dupe for MAC Paintpot in Moss Scape.
The MAC Paintpot can be applied with a finger.
I found the Maybelline eyeshadows worked best for me when used with a synthetic brush.
I do not use them for their inteded purpose as stand alone eyeshadows, but instead as eyeshadow bases. They intensify the colors of eyeshadows I pack on top.
The MAC Paintpot seems to have a drier texture.
The Maybelline is creamier. I prefer the texture of the Maybelline.

It appears that the MAC Moss Scape has more gold in it than the Moss Green Does.

What do you think?

300 Gold Shimmer
Rich Gold is a warmer Bronze.

400 Rich Mahogany

Do you have any plans on purchasing any of these beauties?
Which colors appear to stand out to you?

Milani Powder Blush Collection

Indoor Lighthing With Flash

Indoor Lighting - No Flash

Makeup Boards tout Milani Blushes as dupes for high end Blushes

Milani Powder Blush LUMINOUS = NARS Orgasm
Milani Mineral Powder Blush MAI-TAI = MAC Hipness
Milani Mineral Powder Blush SUNSET BEACH = MAC Raizin

On my MAC NC50 complexion, Luminous barely shows.
I think it makes a pretty highlight.
I prefer the matte mineral powder formulations.
They are highly pigmented. When I set them with transparent powder, and Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix, they last longer than if I used nothing. The general consensus is they last about three hours when worn alone. I need to play with the newer additions to my collection to get a true estimate of staying power. Generally I use a cream base first for all of my powders.
I have just one more color to add to my collection for it to be complete, Sweet Rose.

Do you own any of these blushes?

Close Dupe Alert - Ruby Kisses Velvet Red (RLS39) = MAC Violetta?

Ruby Kisses Lipstick may be found at your local beauty supply store.

Velvet Red (RLS39) is a little more red than Violetta.
It may be a closer dupe to MAC Pervette.

Left Ruby Kisses Velvet Red (RLS39)

Right MAC Violetta

The redness of the Velvet Red may be compensated for by using a blue based plum liner.

$1 vs. $14.50

Of course it is always important to remember that texture and wear time may be less when using less expensive products. I find the textures and wear time to be quite similiar.
The Ruby Kisses is smooth, creamy and very moisturizing.
Wear time = about 3 hours.  If you don't mind reapplying, go for it.

What do you think?

Dupe for MAC Liberty of London Everhip Lipstick

I obsessed with coral lip colors lately.
I picked up an NK lipstick for $1.29 from an ethnic beauty supply store.
924 Coral Pink
I quickly realised it is a dupe for MAC
Everhip (Creamsheen) Lipstick.
This has made me seriously reconsider my highend lipstick purchases.

Essence of Beauty Kabuki Brush REVIEW

"Essence of Beauty's plush cosmetic brushes are made of high quality, authentic hairs and fibers. Buy Essence of Beauty's luxurious cosmetic accessories for all the benefits of high-end department store brands at just the right price. Reusable cosmetic pouch."

DIRECTIONS
"The Kabuki brush can be used to apply powder, bronzer or blush. Just dip the brush into the product in a circular motion for optimal coverage and lightly tap to remove excess. Use a dusting motion to apply product where needed. This brush is great for use with mineral cosmetics. Recommendations: Follow with the 'Essence of Beauty' blush brush to add a rosy glow to your look. Instructions of usage inside.

My curiosity was piqued in this brush by many makeup YouTubers.
They compared it to the MAC 182 ($45). Many purchased this brush to carry in their purse or on overnight trips and vacations so as not to risk losing the more expensive MAC brush. Some claim to like this brush even better than the MAC comparable brush.

I was able to purchase mine on a bogo.
Generally it retails at CVS for $9.99.
It is worth every penny and MORE!

Unless I stumble upon a better brush by accident, the search is over!
This brush is as soft as my e.l.f. studio kabukis.
Click HERE (for e.l.f. kabuki review) It is however, more dense than they are.
The Coastal Scents Synthetic Wide Buffer is softer, but not as dense as this brush.

Comparative View

Overhead View

HOW I USE IT
This brush is excellent for applying powders. It is dense enough to pick up as much product as I desire without being over saturated. The extra large dome makes quick work of buffing. The pointed tip allows for easy access to the more recessed areas like near the sides of the nose.

This brush shed just a little out of the packaging.
Washing resulted in a little more shedding. There was not alot of bleeding.
It took a while to dry.

I am sure my other kabuki brushes will be jealous of my new love.

5 out of 5 stars!
I HIGHLY recommend adding this to your collection.

New Milani Products Coming Soon

"Alicia Keys 2009 VMA: NYC Celebrity Makeup Artist Ashunta Sheriff created a Classic retro look: Flawless skin Mary Kay tinted moisturizer in bronze and Milani HD Advanced Concealer highlighting facial pen in 04 Medium Honey. Subtle contour Milani Bronzer XL.

Popping eyes Naked Cosmetics silver and black shimmer shadows, Milani Infinite Liquid Eye Liner in gold -04 Forever. Ardell individual lashes. Mary Kay brunette brow pencil. Happy cheeks Mary Kay blush in strawberry cream. Dior iconic black mascara. Lips: Shimmering gold - Milani Buzz Worthy Lip Gloss in 02 Busy Bee."

No disrespect to Ms. Sheriff, but Ol' Girl is a little bit too bronzed up for my taste. However, my curiosity is seriously piqued with regard to the HD Advanced Concealer. I will be scoping the drugstore shelves for the arrival of this product. The Make Up For Ever (MUFE) HD Concealer is $28. I would love to save some money if at all possible.

Maybelline Wet Shine Diamonds Review

This discontinued product may be found at your local dollar store.
I found it works best over another product, like lipstick or lip pencil to make it last longer. A little bit goes a long way. It makes your lips look spectacular.
It does not last for very long, as the warmth of your body kind of spreads it out. If you don't mind reapplying, then this product is for you. It is not at all sticky.
Some colors are more sheer than others. Many of these have been identified as close MAC Dazzleglass dupes on some makeup message boards.

Spoiled in Rubies

Pink Carats

Jewels 'N Berries

PROS

- Inexpensive, if you lose it in a purse or pocket, it won't really matter
- Pretty
- Not sticky

CONS

- Hard to find
- Have to reapply very often
- Not sticky enough
* When worn alone, melts & only silver glitter is left.
* Glitter Migrates to rest of face

I give this product 4 out of 5 stars!
